I believe the most important step to take prior to confroning a friend is to analyze the motivation of your heart. You need to ask yourself “why are you doing this?” and “what will be the outcome of your confrontion? If your motivation is love, there will always be a good outcome. It might not happen instantaneously, but it will happen.
Our heart can be very deceiving. It is important to ask God to give us a heart like His. Proverbs 4:23 says “guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”
